She asked me to photograph her as a gift to her husband and to have portraits for her children when they reach the age she is here. We worked together designing her photoshoot. In the first moments of meeting Jeanie I noticed how beautiful she was...her long and flowing hair was draping down her shoulders. Then the corners of her mouth moved upwards as she smiled, but was a bit shy. As we began to talk I noticed her voice was soft and peaceful. We began to style and design her portraits and as I listened and looked into her eyes, they were sparkling. She smiled more and I could see the excitement. When you decide it's time to exist in photos you have realized how powerful a portrait really is and how important it is to your family and friends. When she came for her reveal I noticed she was resisting looking at her portraits. As I walked her to the reveal wall I said to her, "this is you." Her eyes filled with tears as she took in one portrait at a time with not a word until she had looked at them all. Then my eyes filled with tears and in my own moment I thought about how important my job is, how honored and grateful I am to give such a gift. A gift that will change the way you see yourself and how you feel about yourself. Don't wait, exist in photos and I'm not talking about the ones with your phone. A portrait, a powerful one, the one that you can see in your eyes that you really believe you are beautiful and YOU believe it and others see it.

Bailey had a vision for her senior portraits when she arrived at my studio. She wanted to be classic with a vision of "Twiggy" (an english model, actress & singer from the 60s know for her short hair, long lashes and thin build). As I looked through her wardrobe for her senior portraits we decided which outfit would be shot on each back drop and got started. She wanted her senior portraits to have a twist of fashion, fine art, fun and classic. Shooting in the studio, outside the studio, and studio rooftop gave us the variety we wanted.Taking time to get to know Bailey and her on a personal level during their consultation, the photoshoot, order session, and delivery of their senior portraits gave me so much gratitude and happiness. Bailey's plans for her future are in the arts and are so inspiring and I hope to one day photograph her again.

This is when your beauty will shine through your eyes and others will see it. This is the magic that I am looking for when I shoot.
